God Will Not Abandon You

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6

We live in a time when it’s become socially acceptable to cut people off without explanation; also known as ghosting. It’s often promoted as a way to set boundaries with those who are deemed unworthy of continued access.

But if you’ve ever been ghosted, you know how painful it can be. It leaves you wondering what you did wrong, how you could fix it, or why you weren’t even worth an explanation. It can make you feel small, unimportant, or deeply unvalued.

Others may not have experienced ghosting, but may still carry the ache of abandonment, perhaps by a parent or loved one who walked away early in life, leaving them to ask why they weren’t enough to make someone stay.

Abandonment in any form hurts. But friend, even when people ghost or leave us behind, God never will.

He’s always there; steady, present, and faithful, no matter what we’ve done. He forgives quickly when we ask, and He understands us more deeply than anyone else ever could. His promise still stands: He will never leave us or forsake us.

So if you feel abandoned today, I’m truly sorry. I know how real that pain is. But I encourage you to turn to the One who sees you, stays with you, and knows how to fill every empty place with love and healing.

Reflection: Think of a time when God came through for you right on time, and thank Him for it.
