It’s Normal To Worry At Times, But We Don’t Have To Stay There

“Who of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” - Luke 12:25-26

With so many things going on in our world, it’s a natural human response to have a bit of worry, stress, or even anxiety about things.

But I’m learning that even when I feel these things, I don’t have to stay in that state and posture. Living in a state of worry and fear doesn’t make anything better, and it’s important to learn how to manage these emotions.

Today I wanted to share some things that have been helping me process and deal with everything these days. I hope these things can help you too.

Pray Often

As a person of faith, I believe that whatever situation you may be facing and need help getting through, ask God, because He is willing and able to help.

God can handle hearing our requests and complaints, but let’s not forget to give Him our praises. I pray all day long, asking God to help me with everything and to provide me with strength; He hasn’t failed me yet.

Trust God With Your Life

I used to worry a lot about how things would turn out in my life. I still worry sometimes, but nowhere near as much as I did in the past. Now, I believe that God is working everything out for me and that He is in control.

I reflect on all the times I’ve worried about or faced something, and I remember how God always comes through for me. I don't always know how things will turn out, but God knows, and I trust Him.

Spend Time Offline

Take time off social media and a break from watching the news. The media evokes emotions and reactions, often including fear, worry, and panic. It also causes us to compare our lives, which can bring in feelings of discontentment.

It’s important to stay informed but not to the point that it makes us anxious and fearful. Once again, remember God is in control no matter what the news says.

Forgive

If you are holding any grudges, let them go. Life is too short to be angry and hold grudges. Forgive, let it go, and be free. When you forgive others, you’re setting them free and setting yourself free as well.

Forgiving and moving forward can also bring a sense of peace and freedom because your heart is clear.

I hope this helps.
