1 | God Sees You

“She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’” — Genesis 16:13

We’ve all had a day or two when we’ve felt invisible. Maybe someone waved in our direction, and we waved back, only to realize they were greeting the person behind us.

Or maybe we were cut off in traffic, or skipped in a line, as if we simply weren’t there. If I’m honest, I find these moments super annoying, and super embarrassing. Oh, you weren’t waving at me, complete stranger? My bad!

But here’s the beautiful truth: God never overlooks us. He sees us, fully and deeply. He’s always present, even on our hardest, loneliest days to listen, comfort, and guide.

So if you’re feeling invisible today, let this be your reminder: you’re not. Your heavenly Father sees you, knows you, and loves you. You are never invisible, and you are never alone.

Reflection: How does God make you feel seen?

4 | You Are Not Alone In the Storm

“Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he; I am he who will sustain you. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will sustain you, and I will rescue you.” — Isaiah 46:4

The weather can be unpredictable where I live. One day, I took my daughter to a terrarium-making workshop at a coffee shop about 20 minutes from home. When we arrived, the sun was shining and the temperature hovered around 50 degrees.

But just a couple of hours later, everything changed. The temperature dropped, and snow flurries began falling.

By the time we reached the main road, we were in a full whiteout. I couldn’t see through any of the windows, and the windshield wipers were useless. At the time, I was driving a little two-door Mini Cooper, not exactly built for winter roads. I was trying my hardest to stay calm and not panic.

I glanced into the backseat to check on my daughter. She was sound asleep, completely unaware of the storm around us, resting peacefully, trusting I’d get us home safely. I took a deep breath and prayed.

And the Lord carried us home.

I know He did, because I truly don’t know how we would’ve made it otherwise.

That moment is just one of many in my life where I can look back and say with certainty: God carried me through what felt impossible. Storms will come in this life, but we can trust Him to carry us through every single one. Just like my daughter, we can rest in peace, trusting that God will get us to where we need to be.

Reflection: How will you trust God during life’s storms?

11 | Perfection Is Not a Requirement

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

I love smoothies. I drink one just about every day. Not only do I enjoy the taste, but I also appreciate how each one gives me a quick dose of nutrition. But here’s the thing about me: I like my smoothies to be perfect.

For me to truly enjoy one, it has to hit all the marks; perfect thickness, perfect sweetness, and just the right chill. I hate to admit it, but there have been times when I’ve poured a smoothie down the drain simply because it didn’t meet my standards. Nothing disappoints me quite like a watery or lukewarm smoothie.

As I reflect on those high smoothie standards, I’m reminded and deeply grateful that God doesn’t hold us to the same level of perfection.

He doesn’t toss us aside when we don’t measure up. He doesn’t discard us because we’re weak or inconsistent.

In fact, Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that His power is made perfect in our weakness. That means our flaws don’t disqualify us. They create space for His strength to shine through.

So if you’ve been striving for perfection or beating yourself up for not getting everything right, you can let that go. God accepts you, fully and lovingly, just as you are. And if you’ll let Him, He will perfect you day by day through His grace.

Reflection: In what way has striving for perfection held you back? How can you begin letting go today?
